Build Your Butterfly Garden Eggs Guide
Eggs are the primary way to expand your butterfly collection in Build Your Butterfly Garden. Each Egg type contains a different pool of potential butterflies with varying rarity distributions.
Standard Eggs
Available from the in-game shop using Nectar. These contain common to rare butterflies suitable for early and mid-game collection building.
Japanese Egg
Obtained from the PLAZAUPDATE code and potentially from Plaza Shop rotations. Contains Japanese-themed butterflies with higher average rarity than standard Eggs.
Recommended to hatch with a Luck Boost active. See active codes for PixieShop.
Fairy Egg
Introduced in the Fairy Update. Available on the Fairy Plot and from event activities. Hatches fairy-themed butterflies exclusive to this Egg pool.
Rainbow Egg
Added in Fairy Update Part II. Obtained by chasing rainbows during the event and collecting free eggs. Contains the four new event butterflies including Rainbow Prism.

Rainbow Eggs for Big Fairy Tree
Three Rainbow Eggs are required to unlock the Big Fairy Tree landmark. Plan your Rainbow Egg collection around this milestone for the Celestria decoration and hidden obby access.
