How to Play Build Your Butterfly Garden

Build Your Butterfly Garden is a relaxing Roblox simulation where you build a butterfly sanctuary from scratch. This guide covers everything a new player needs to know from your first login to building a profitable garden that earns Nectar while you are offline.

Getting Started in Build Your Butterfly Garden

When you first join Build Your Butterfly Garden, you receive a starter plot with basic Flowerbeds and a few Eggs. Your immediate goal is to hatch these Eggs to get butterflies, then place those butterflies on Flowerbeds to start generating Nectar.

Nectar is the primary currency. You spend Nectar to buy more Eggs, upgrade Flowerbeds, unlock new garden areas, and purchase decorations from the Plaza Shop. Every decision in the early game should prioritize increasing your Nectar income.

Before doing anything else, redeem any active codes from our codes page. The PixieShop code grants a 3x Luck boost that dramatically improves rare hatches when timed correctly.

Hatching Your First Butterflies

Open your Egg inventory and select an Egg to hatch. Hatching takes a short period during which you wait for the animation to complete. Each Egg can produce butterflies of varying rarity, from common species to rare and event-exclusive variants.

Luck Boosts from codes like PixieShop increase your odds during hatching. Save these boosts for special Eggs rather than using them on common starter Eggs. Our rare butterfly guide explains optimal timing.

After hatching, butterflies go to your collection. Browse your collection to see each butterfly's rarity tier and Nectar multiplier before deciding which Flowerbed to assign them to.

Setting Up Flowerbeds for Nectar Income

Flowerbeds are the engine of your economy. Each Flowerbed generates Nectar automatically when populated with a butterfly. Rarer butterflies produce more Nectar per cycle, so always put your best butterflies on your most upgraded Flowerbeds.

Upgrade Flowerbeds as soon as you can afford it. Each upgrade level increases both the Nectar output rate and the total capacity. Upgraded Flowerbeds also continue generating Nectar while you are offline, making upgrades the best long-term investment. See our Flowerbed upgrade guide for priority order.

Expanding Your Garden

As your Nectar income grows, unlock new plot areas and expand your garden footprint. The Fairy Update added a dedicated Fairy Plot with unique decoration rules and the ability to stack items for creative garden designs.

Decorations do not directly generate Nectar but improve your garden's Like count on the leaderboard. Higher Like counts attract visitors and showcase your collection. Learn decoration techniques in our garden layout guide.

Join the Chocolatine Games Roblox group and like the game to receive a Golden Cherry Tree decoration and other free rewards that enhance your garden's appearance.

Mid-Game Goals and Progression

Once your basic income loop is established, focus on collecting rare butterflies through event Eggs, weather-timed hatching, and Fairy Update content. The butterfly tier list shows which specimens offer the best Nectar returns.

Participate in weather events for mutated eggs that hatch into larger butterflies. The Size Update made this mechanic more impactful than ever. Read our weather and size guide for timing strategies.

Track your offline earnings with our Nectar Calculator to optimize Flowerbed placement before logging off.
