Build Your Butterfly Garden Baby Dragon Pet Guide
The Baby Dragon is the newest companion pet in Build Your Butterfly Garden, added in late July 2026 through the Fairy Update Part II obstacle course. This guide walks through every step — from collecting the dragon key to completing the obby and equipping your dragon.
Prerequisites
You need access to the Fairy Plot and Big Fairy Tree area from Fairy Update Part II. Before starting, gather climbing access to the tree root near the left pillar where the dragon key spawns.
Rainbow Eggs are required to open the obby door. You need three Rainbow Eggs solo, or team up with two other players who each hold one egg. Rainbow events spawn eggs for five minutes — the first rainbow of each cycle always drops an egg.
Step 1: Collect the Dragon Key
Run to the left of the Big Fairy Tree and climb the tree root to reach the pillar on the left side. The dragon key sits on top of this pillar. Pick it up — you will need it at the end of the obby to unlock the dragon cage.
Step 2: Gather Three Rainbow Eggs
Wait for a rainbow event (visible rainbow arc in the sky). You have five minutes to chase rainbows across the map and collect eggs. Each player needs one egg to contribute at the incubator, or one player can deposit all three solo.
Place your Rainbow Eggs into the incubator near the Big Fairy Tree. Once all three slots are filled, the purple obby door opens with a bright white light.
Step 3: Complete the Fairy Tree Obby
Enter the obstacle course and collect crates along the way — they can knock you off if ignored. Use jump boost pads to reach higher platforms and watch for moving obstacles that push players off course.
On PC, angle your camera downward on floating ball sections for more precise jumps. You can skip portions of the course by jumping up the side walls near boost pads. At the ladder section, climb only to crate height, grab the crate, then continue.

Step 4: Unlock and Equip the Dragon
At the end of the obby, find the dragon inside a cage. Use the dragon key from step 1 to open the cage and claim your Baby Dragon pet. Exit through the bright white door back to the Fairy Plot.
Open your pets menu, unequip any current companion (like the Panda Pet), then equip the Baby Dragon. Only one pet displays at a time.
