Build Your Butterfly Garden Grove & Meadow Flowerbeds Guide

Grove Flowerbed and Meadow Flowerbed arrived with Ocean Update Part 2 in Build Your Butterfly Garden, giving players two new income slots with fresh visuals and the same upgrade rules as standard beds. This guide covers how to obtain them, where they fit in your upgrade priority, and how they compare to Little and Lush Flowerbeds.

What Grove and Meadow Flowerbeds Are

Both beds function as standard Flowerbeds for Nectar generation. Populate them with butterflies, upgrade with Nectar, and they contribute to offline income the same way as your starter grid.

The difference is cosmetic and thematic — Grove leans woodland green while Meadow fits open-field and ocean shoreline builds. Pair them with Coral Arch, Sand Castle, and other coastal decorations from Ocean Update Part 2.

Overview of all bed types: Flowerbeds hub.

  • Grove Flowerbed — woodland-themed income slot
  • Meadow Flowerbed — open-field themed income slot
  • Same upgrade and Nectar rules as standard beds
  • Added in Ocean Update Part 2 (August 2026)

How to Get Grove and Meadow Beds

Ocean Update Part 2 adds both beds to the available Flowerbed pool. Check the in-game shop and progression menus after updating your client to August 2026 content.

If you do not see them immediately, confirm Ocean Update Part 2 is live, read the in-game Mailbox for patch notes, and revisit the shop after completing early tutorial steps.

Upgrade Priority

Do not spread Nectar thin across every bed you own. Upgrade your highest-output beds first — usually the ones holding your rarest butterflies from the tier list.

After your core 4–6 beds are mid-level, add Grove and Meadow to expand offline income. Two new upgraded beds beat six unupgraded ones.

Detailed priority order: Flowerbed upgrade guide. Model returns before spending with the Nectar Calculator.

  • Max existing high-tier beds before buying new types
  • Assign rarest butterflies to upgraded Grove/Meadow slots
  • Expand to 6–8 upgraded beds mid-game
  • Use the Nectar Calculator to compare upgrade ROI

Grove/Meadow vs Little and Lush Beds

Little Flowerbeds — Smaller beds from codes like PLAZAUPDATE. Same mechanics, compact visuals. Good early expanders but not better than upgraded standard beds.

Lush Flowerbeds — Premium beds from events and codes (e.g. FAV5K). Often worth prioritizing if you own one — place your best butterfly there first.

Grove & Meadow — Ocean Update additions with thematic visuals. Equal income rules to standard beds when upgraded equally. Choose based on garden theme and expansion timing, not a hidden multiplier.

Offline strategy pairs with all bed types — see offline Nectar guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Grove and Meadow Flowerbeds generate more Nectar?
Not inherently. Income depends on butterfly rarity and upgrade level, same as other Flowerbed types.
Should I buy Grove or Meadow first?
Buy whichever matches your garden theme. Stat-wise they are equivalent — pick Grove for woodland builds or Meadow for open/ocean layouts.
Do these beds work offline?
Yes. Upgraded Grove and Meadow beds with butterflies assigned continue generating offline Nectar.
How many Flowerbeds should I aim for?
Mid-game target is 6–8 fully upgraded beds. Add Grove and Meadow once your core grid is profitable.
