Build Your Butterfly Garden Treasure Hunts Guide
Treasure Hunts are the exploration loop added alongside Ocean Update Part 2 in Build Your Butterfly Garden. Follow map clues, open reward chests, and unlock the Turtle pet plus ocean-themed goodies. This guide explains how hunts work and how to finish them efficiently.
What Treasure Hunts Are
Treasure Hunts send you across garden and plaza areas collecting clues or interacting with marked objects. Completing a hunt grants a reward bundle — most importantly the Turtle pet for many players.
Hunts complement Fairy Plot exploration and weather hatching. They do not replace Nectar farming; treat them as side objectives during Ocean Update sessions.
Starting a Hunt
Check the in-game Mailbox after logging in — Chocolatine Games posts update tips and hunt reminders there. Also watch for on-screen hunt markers after Ocean Update Part 2 loads.
If you miss a prompt, revisit the Plaza and Fairy Plot entrances; hunt starters often sit near high-traffic landmarks.
Completing Clues Efficiently
Read each clue before running. Ocean-themed hints often point toward coastal decoration zones or new Flowerbed areas (Grove and Meadow).
Bring a friend for multiplayer clue steps if a hunt requires button presses or shared interactions — similar to the Panda Pet bamboo sequence.
Stay online until the final claim screen. Disconnecting mid-hunt can force a restart.
- Open Mailbox for hunt tips after each patch
- Follow ocean decoration landmarks as navigation anchors
- Claim the Turtle immediately when it appears
- Use Performance Mode if dense maps cause stuttering
Rewards and Next Steps

After finishing hunts, place Grove and Meadow Flowerbeds, buy ocean decorations, and keep watching the Mailbox for the next surprise drop.
